It’s all about art at Museo Benini

People view various modern art pieces, including a large orange triangular sculpture and colorful abstract wall art, in a well-lit gallery with gray walls and a tiled floor at Museo Benini.

On the outskirts of Marble Falls sits a delightful, unexpected find in the Highland Lakes, Museo Benini. The 6,500-square foot white rock art gallery sits atop 35 sculpture-laced-acres. Inside is a feast for the eyes and the mind — the color-filled art of internationally renowned artist Benini. Museo Benini is a single-artist gallery, one of roughly 300 worldwide, that showcases the evolution of work from one artist.

More than six decades of the Italian-born artist’s work are represented in the gallery including the roses that gained attention of the art world some 50 years ago. In addition to Benini’s iconic ‘Roses’ series visitors will find works from his many other series such as ‘Geometrics’, ‘Targets’, ‘Courting Kaos’, ‘Face of God’, ‘The Whites’, and more.

A fine arts research library with archives is housed at the museum and generously available to all. In addition to the treasure trove of art inside the museum is a wondrous outdoor sculpture trail dotting the grounds. The nearly two dozen sculptures are creations of friends of Benini and several crafted by the artist himself. The sculptures of various sizes and mediums add a touch of whimsy to the beautiful hill country landscape.
