Vintage showcase and history at Hill Country Motorheads
Hill Country Motorheads vintage motorcycle museum in Burnet began decades ago, unknowingly, when two young brothers combined their lawn mowing earnings and purchased a minibike in the late 1960s. As the Hanlon brothers’ love of motorcycles and motorcycle racing grew, so did their collection.
Hundreds of motorcycles and about five decades later, Hill Country Motorheads, owned by Pat Hanlon and wife Janell, opened its doors to visitors in the Highland Lakes in 2018. The museum includes all makes and models of bikes. Displays are geared toward educating visitors on the bikes, the companies that built them, and the role the machines have played in history. The museum’s displays include street bikes, motocross and enduro, flat track, road racing, trials, drag and speedway, and scooters and minibikes. Visitors are welcome to hang out in the lounge-like Man Cave to swap stories or shoot a friendly round of pool. Motorcycle enthusiasts can browse, bone up on bike history, and reminisce with others who share the same passion.
Hill Country Motorheads hosts the annual Texas M/C Revival bike show, which features a special guest and special exhibits. The 2024 Texas M/C Revival is Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission to the event is $7.
