It’s boom time for Bluebonnet Airshow

The 33rd annual Bluebonnet Airshow will soar and boom over Burnet on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The popular event hosted by the Highland Lakes Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force always draws a crowd.

The grounds of Kate Craddock Field at the Burnet Municipal Airport will be filled with planes, displays, and vendors, making for a fun day. Gates open at 9 a.m. The airshow starts at 11:45 a.m.

Attendees are welcome to arrive before the action starts to check out the planes on the ground as well as the CAF museum, which is free to visit and filled with exhibits on U.S. aviation history. Spectators are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or pay for an area with seating provided.

Entertainment for the 2025 event includes World War II-era bombers and fighters, several C-47s, the Falcon Flight Formation Team, the Liberty Jump Team, and an ever-growing list of planes. There will be a booming pyrotechnics display, a downed pilot rescue re-enactment, parachuters, folks in uniforms from days gone by, and even several 501st Legion Stormtroopers— this event always has some fun surprises.

Kate Craddock Field is located at the Burnet Municipal Airport, 2302 U.S. 281 South. Tickets may be purchased in advance online or at the gate. Children ages 5 and younger get in free. Parking for the Bluebonnet Airshow is free across the highway. A paid parking lot with available shuttle service is located at Hill Country Fellowship Church just north of the airfield.
