Highland Lakes of Burnet County Open for Business

Visitors are welcome in the Highland Lakes of Burnet County, where businesses are open and complying with COVID-19 regulations to keep customers and staff safe. In fact, as of Monday, Sept. 21, the restaurants and shops will be able to open at 75 percent capacity per new orders from Gov. Greg Abbott. The county qualifies because its hospitalizations are below the threshold established by Abbott’s expert task force.

Located in the heart of the Highland Lakes, Burnet County even has new venues opening up in the near future, including Warehouse BBQ, which starts slicing brisket and sausage on Oct. 1 at 305 N. Water St. in Burnet.

Cottonwood Shores also has a new restaurant coming, one with spectacular views of Lake LBJ for both its outdoor and indoor seating. Bay View Restaurant and Bar is currently under construction. It will open in early 2021 at 4401 Cottonwood Drive.

No need to wait for these two to open though. Catch ’em on the next trip. The county, which includes Burnet, Bertram, Marble Falls, Cottonwood Shores, Granite Shoals, and parts of Kingsland and Buchanan Dam, has plenty of great places to eat, drink, and hear live music and shop, shop, shop. Even the hardware stores are great places to shop, especially for souvenirs.

Burnet County also has great state parks and hike-and-bike trails for safe, family outdoor activities. You can rent a cabin or lodge, camp out, set up your RV, bring your boat (or even rent one!), and enjoy any of five lakes.

Our shops, lodgers, and restaurants are all open and ready to be part of a memorable visit to the Highland Lakes of Burnet County.
