Fall has arrived in Burnet County in the Highland Lakes of Central Texas. While the air is still a bit warm this year, there are plenty of places to go to get into the spirit of the season.

Celebrate Fall Festivals in Burnet County

The weather is usually perfect this time of year to enjoy outdoor art festivals, living history days, pumpkin picking, car shows, and loads of other family events in Burnet County. Includes zombies, too! Here are the highlights.

Admission and parking are free. Pay only for the activities, which include flower picking, pumpkin picking, a corn maze, and other kid-friendly fun.

Hay rides, pumpkins, a petting zoo, and more. Admission is free, but a few activities have a fee.

MAIN STREET CAR SHOW

Main Street

Marble Falls

The 18th annual Main Street Car Show rolls into Marble Falls with classic cars, hot rods, food, shopping, and live music.

Admission is free for spectators to the Kiwanis Club of Marble Falls fundraiser.

See Hill Country history from prehistoric weaponry through the Great Depression. Event features atlatl and pioneer demonstrations, flint knapping, a firearms display, and Buffalo Soldier re-enactors.

ZOMBOREE

Hidden Falls Adventure Park

Marble Falls

An annual all-day trail riding event, the Zomboree features trail runs for all skill levels, children’s activities, a photobooth, a scavenger hunt, a raffle, silent and live auctions, and the Zombie Slayer Trap Shoot.

BURNET ART FESTIVAL

Downtown and the courthouse square

Burnet

The fifth annual Plein Air Competition and Art Festival takes over downtown Burnet as artists create and compete. An awards presentation is 5 p.m. Saturday. It’s all part of Burnet’s Octoberfest that weekend.

OCTOBERFEST

Corner of League and Vanderveer

Burnet

Live music adds to the annual Octoberfest atmosphere on the courthouse square as Rick Trevino plays a free concert Friday night. Stoney LaRue takes over for Saturday’s concert at 8:30 p.m. Both days feature a beer garden, local wine tasting, a farmers market, artisan booths, a classic car exhibit, and a Renaissance event during the day.

History comes alive at Fort Croghan as re-enactors turn this historic fort into a blast from the past (and by blast, we mean that literally!)

Spicewood

Local artists and musicians feature their work for two days of fun and music. The art show is juried. Good food and hospitality are also available.
