The thrill of thrifting is finding that designer bag or valuable decanter for a bargain price in a shop that uses profits to benefit the community.

Burnet County Thrift Stores Share Treasures

The delight of discovering an awesome deal at a thrift store could be compared to winning a raffle prize. You’ve invested the time to search for a particular item, and, for a small expense, you take home something valuable.

Whether you’re looking for something specific or just shopping for deals, Burnet County has plenty of wonderful thrift stores benefiting worthy causes. Residents donate furniture, clothing, books, housewares, and trinkets to be displayed and sold with profits going back into the community. Take something away with you when you visit, and leave a little something behind to help people in need.

The libraries of Burnet, Bertram, Marble Falls, and Spicewood all benefit from well-stocked thrift stores. The Good Neighbor Thrift Store in Marble Falls donates its proceeds to the Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center. Other stores benefit the community by giving gently worn clothing and household items to residents at a fraction of the cost.
Don’t judge a book by its cover either. Some of the more time-worn buildings can hold awesome treasures. Recently found on one shelf: a pair of $660 mint condition Lucchese Boots, sold for $30. Another great find was a 12-piece set of beautiful glassware for $8. Designer clothes, shoes, small appliances, and even pots, pans, and dishes can be uncovered with a little searching.

Each store has consistent turnover with new merchandise added as donations come in and items are sold. Stores also have “deals of the day” for half-price and “sale” racks, where deep discounts go even deeper!

If you’re looking for things to do in Burnet County, thrifting is a double-benefit activity that gives value to you and the community. Here are the shops you’ll find in the Highland Lakes of Burnet County.
