The Bluebonnet Capital of Texas
Every spring, Burnet earns its nickname in spectacular fashion. From late March through mid-April, the roadsides, fields, and hillsides around town explode with Texas bluebonnets — the state flower — turning the landscape into a sea of violet-blue that draws more than 40,000 visitors to the annual Bluebonnet Festival alone.
The festival takes over the historic downtown square with live music, local vendors, carnival rides, a parade, and a celebration of everything that makes Burnet and the Hill Country special. It’s one of the most beloved spring events in central Texas, and the perfect excuse to plan your first — or fifteenth — visit.
